Childbirth doesn’t have to be painful.
When the mind and body can work in harmony, childbirth can be a powerful and positive experience. This is pretty contrary to the labor stories heard and the films watched. The Center for Mind Body Healing believes that through Therapeutic Hypnosis and the technique of self-hypnosis, a mother can train to approach labor with greater confidence, fear less the handling of the experience and trust that her body will do what it was built to do.
With the technique, you can use the harmony of your mind and body to expect and experience a more serene and natural birthing. With a new sense of focus and control, and with your birthing partner, you’ll have taught yourself to expect something different, to bring new positive perspectives to the experience, and to deliberately calm and relax your body. When your muscles and nervous system are in a state of focused relaxation, the lower level of stress hormones produced facilitates uterine contractions, rather than slowing or stopping the contractions.
Your birth-partner learns how to provide effective support to your self-hypnosis and to your deep relaxation, tremendously reducing the need for pain killers or medical intervention. With your enhanced beliefs and expectations of yourself, you will know you have a part in feeling less stressed, and can dissociate from and manage your levels of discomfort and pain. Some women report feeling no pain.

The CMBH Deep Relaxation Childbirth Training includes five weekly sessions for you and your partner, five months prior to your due date. The sessions are supplemented with instruction and exercises for you and your partner to practice at home. The Center For Mind Body Healing will teach you how to use your mind and body in harmony to create a new sense of focus and control within yourself.
